Scrap Africa Challenge #45

Hello everyone! Welcome back for another fun challenge over at SCRAP AFRICA. Denise has come up with a challenge to use Die Cuts. If you are anything like me I have hundreds of Die Cuts sitting around waiting for the appropriate project, some that have been included in kits and many individual Die Cuts. Most of the time I forget to pull them out of my stash. So I couldn't wait to explore once more what I had accumulated. Here is the Challenge:

Use Die-Cuts on your project....and show us how creative you can get with your die-cuts, whether cardboard, paper or chipboard.

After much consideration I decided to go with a new Kaisercraft kit "Sandy Toes". Don't you just love Kaisercraft "Collectables"?!  I've used 15 Die Cuts on this project - a record for me I must say! :D

This kit is perfect for our Summer holiday photos. The little wood veneer "2015" (which I altered slightly) and Flair button are from STUDIO FOURTEEN40

It's so quick and easy using Die Cuts especially if they are part of a Kit.  So I challenge you to pull out your Die Cuts and have some fun with this Challenge. Pop on over to the Scrap Africa Blog and check the wonderful inspo from all the other DT members.

Until next time xx

SCRAP AFRICA #44

I was so excited when I saw Denise's amazing sketch for this new challenge at SCRAP AFRICA, I couldn't wait to use it for some photos I took whilst on our Summer holiday. Here is the wonderful sketch & I'm sure you'd agree that it is quite lovely:

I started with some sea-foam coloured paper from Authentique and added some texture paste with a stencil. The heart is hand-drawn then sprayed and splashed some glimmer mist all over the place. I cut a heart from some fabric and inked, sprayed and distressed it to add more texture to the background.

Behind the photos as well is some paper offcuts in the same sea-foam/pale aqua tones which I also inked. The flowers are Prima and the title is from Words or Whatever. I also used some Kaisercraft rubons on the background and a script stamp. The flair button is from StudioFourteen40.

I really hope that you get a chance to have a go at this sketch challenge. I'd love to see what you can come up with :) TFL xx

Kraft+ February Challenge

There is a terrific new kid on the block! Kraft+ is a brand new Challenge site and as it suggests, it's all about using Kraft as a base, which I just love doing. The Design Team Inspo totally inspired me with this challenge:

Now this isn't a Mood Board but a colour challenge. The use of all the colours isn't required, although I think I've pretty much covered them all except the pink. And lovely bright, Summery colours they are too :)

I chose to use a photo my DS took while he and his Sister were mucking around at the beach on our recent holiday. I love seeing the two of them having fun together. They hadn't seen each other for almost 2 years so they have had a lot of catching up to do and when they are on holidays together they revert back to their childhood comraderie, which is a real hoot sometimes.

I embossed the title, which is a chippie from WOW as well as embossing some water splotches. The lovely vibrant bags, wood veneer frame and yellow tags are from D-lish Scraps and the Kraft paper & tags are Kaisercraft. I had so much fun doing this and finished it in under 2 hours - a major accomplishment for me.

I hope you can have a look at this all Aussie challenge site and give them your support. Thanks for looking xx

ARTastic's February Challenge

Hello again. Well February is here already and I seem to have a full calendar this month, which means I'll have lots of new photos to work with to keep my mojo flowing for the winter months. This month's challenge at ARTASTIC is a colour challenge.  I must admit that when I first looked at these colours I was quite stumped as to what to do with them. However I have this lovely photo of our Son walking along the beach at sunset on our recent holiday. The colours for this challenge reminded me of the sunset in this photo.

I'm pretty sure that this is the first time I've ever incorporated the colour Pink into a masculine page, so hopefully I've pulled it off :D

I love working with white cardstock and as you can see there is lots of stamping, misting and texturing on the background. Here is the list of Products used:
Chipboard "Sketchy" frame: ScrapFX
Chipboard title: 2Crafty
Wood veneer year embellie & flair button: Studio Fourteen40
Lighthouse: Scrapmatts
Wood veneers cogs: Prima
PP: Stampin' Up!
Muslin, Glimmer Mist, Kaisercraft stamps and circle stencil.

Thanks for dropping by and please call over to the ARTastic Blog and check out all the inspiration.
